A doctor or nurse will ask you to provide a blood test to see whether your body is making antibodies to try and fight the hepatitis virus. You may also be referred to a liver specialist for a liver function test.
Treatment for Hepatitis C is most commonly through the use of antiviral medication. This helps to stop the virus from increasing inside the body and to prevent liver damage
If you have symptoms you should get yourself tested to avoid infection developing and from transferring it to someone else.
